My Friday Five #13

So it might not be Friday but, these are the five products I've loved the most this week.

Tatcha Classic Rice Enzyme Powder ($15) - I was standing on line in Sephora and was looking at all the cute mini items and came across this.  I have been wanting to try it but, didn't want to buy the full sized item in case I wasn't a big fan.  Turns out I am.  The powder turns into a paste and when buffed onto the face leaves my skin so rejuvenated.  It is a light exfoliant that works wonders for me.

Chanel Frenzy ($27) - Nude nails have been my thing as of late.  Chanel Frenzy has made quite an appearance.  I love the fact it has a bit of a grey undertone.

By Terry Baume de Rose ($60) - I bought this from Space NK recently and am in love.  I adore the rose smell and just feel so luxurious every time I put this on my lips.

Sunday Riley Good Genes ($105) - Again this is another recent acquisition from Space NK.  I have lusted over this serum for the longest and finally bit the bullet.  And I am so glad.  This serum leaves my skin with just the right amount of hydration without over doing it.  It also smells auhhmazzzing.

Diptyque Eau Duelle Parfum - This was a large sample that I received as a GWP.  It has been my go to recently.  It is a light scent that lingers for just the right amount of time and doesn't over power you.

Chanel Collection Reverie Parisienne Blush Camelia Rose

Chanel's Spring collection came out a month ago.  I didn't jump on the band wagon right away but, once I saw the Jardin de Chanel Blush Camelia Rose I knew I needed it.  It is probably the most beautiful blush I have ever seen.  It is a three dimensional blush with two shades of rose.  One is a lighter pinky rose and the other a darker dusty rose.  It has the signature Chanel scent, which I love.  On my cheeks it gives a nice dust of color.

Compared to Chanel Innocence and Rose Initial.  As you tell Blush Camelia Rose is pretty much a dupe for Innocence.  So if you have one you don't need both.  But, really how could you pass up this beautiful blush ?

Have you bought anything from the Spring collection ??  What are your thoughts ??

Marc Jacobs Midnight in Paris {Collector's Edition}

I was recently strolling through Sephora (btw I haven't really wanted anything from there lately. It's very odd) and I found this beauty.  The Midnight in Paris Collector's Edition is an absolute gem.  I love Marc Jacobs polishes.  They are pigmented and the wear time is great.  This is no exception.  Marc Jacobs was inspired by the Paris sky when creating this shade.  It is a beautiful deep navy blue that is so appropriate for this time of year.

I have been testing this out for five days and I have little chipping just some tip wear.  I use the Sephora Formula X System with all my polishes and I can tell it definitely helps my polishes last longer.

Compared to Chanel Blue Boy(LE), Chanel Blue Rebel(LE), Chanel Magic(LE) & Dior Blue Label

Have you picked this polish up ?? What is your favorite polish at the moment ??

Chanel Sweet Star Le Vernis

Chanel Sweet Star Le Vernis

Every year Chanel releases a nail polish (or two) for Fashion's Night Out.  I have Blue Boy, Blue Rebel, and Magic from previous FNO's and when I saw Sweet Star I knew it had to be mine.  FNO is no longer held in the United States but many other countries do have one.  This year Sweet Star was released in Australia on FNO (back in Septemeber).  It has just released in the United States and I was on a major hunt for it.  I found mine at Bloomingdale's in Soho but, it is now on the Chanel website.

Chanel Sweet Star Le Vernis

Sweet Star in unlike any polish I own.  It is a duo chrome where in some instances it looks purple and in others it looks gray.  It applies amazingly and lasts for four or so days (I use the Sephora Formula X System).  Two coats is needed because the first coat is a bit streaky but with a second it looks nice and opaque.  I am not quite sure how to explain how amazingly gorgeous this polish truly is.  I have gotten so many compliments wearing it too.

I would say that if you are looking for something unique totally buy this.  I can foresee myself wearing this a lot in the coming months.

My Friday Five #8

Another week has come and gone and I can't believe it is almost November.  Seriously this year has just flew by.  Now onto my favorites this week.

Coco Mademoiselle - I have loved this perfume for years but never took the plunge.  I finally did and so happy about it.  I have always wanted a signature scent and I think this is it.

Tom Ford Spanish Pink - When I first got this lipstick I found it hard to work with my skin tone and dry lips.  But, now I found a great liner (Too Faced) and this lipstick works so well.

Burberry Rosewood Shadow - I have been going for an easy eye look lately and this is it.  It looks great by itself.

Marc Jacobs bookmarc Pouch - I recently took a trip to Bleeker Street (has some of my fav shops) and wandered into Marc Jacobs' store bookmarc.  I found this adorable pouch for my business cards.

Chanel Camelia de Plumes Highlighter - I have fallen in love with this highlighter.  It is so gorgeous and just looks great on the skin.  I am so happy I went and got this!

Chanel Reve D'Orient Palette

I was at my local Chanel counter the other day and the sales associate showed me this beautiful Reve D'Orient palette($70).  I was blown away by how pretty it was and knew it had to be mine.  I hadn't heard anything about this palette and was so surprised.  I still don't know to much about it other then a lot of stores don't have it yet and that it was used on the Chanel runway in Dubai.   So, if you live in NYC and need to have it, head on over to the Macy's in Flushing, Queens.

Now let's talk about how amazing this palette is.   The shadows are very creamy and smooth.   They have a satin finish.   There is a bit of fall out on the darker shades, but nothing major.   The shadows are very pigmented and easy to work with.  I have been using the gold all over my eye and the maroon in the outer third.  It's a gorgeous look for the season.

I wish I had more information for you guys about this palette.  But once I know more I will update this post !!

UPDATE: Available at Chanel, Macy's, Saks, & Nordstrom

Will you be buying this palette ??  And have you seen it at your local Chanel counter ??

Chanel Camelia de Plumes Highlighter

Chanel's Holiday 2014 collection recently hit stores and you know I had to check it out.  I have passed on past highlighters from Chanel and have totally regretted it.  But this holiday I had to snatch this beautiful Camelia de Plumes highlighter ($72) up.  Unfortunately this is only in stores for now.  It is not up on the website yet.  This highlighter is definitely different from anything I have in my collection.  It is more of a silvery white, kind of white gold highlighter.  It is highly pigmented and looks absolutely gorgeous on the skin.  I think this would look really amazing on darker skin tones.  It comes in the usual Chanel packaging with a velvet pouch and a nice brush.  I find this highlighter absolutely gorgeous.  It is so stunning and I am so happy I picked this up.

Compared to Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight (more of a gold highlighter) and Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & Glow (more of a bronze highlighter).

Are you thinking of picking anything up from Chanel's Holiday collection ??  What are your favorite highlighters ??

Fall Nail Polish Picks {2014}

Fall is almost here and I am so excited !!  I just love this time of year so much.  So, I thought I would share my top nail polish picks with you guys.  These ten polishes look great during the fall season.

  • YSL Beige Gallery - A beautiful nude shade that gives the look of mannequin hands.
  • Zoya Kendal - A lovely muted lavender shade that looks great throughout the year but especially nice in the fall
  • Formula X Uber - We all know I love a good red nail and this one has a hint of orange in it.
  • Chanel Coup de Couer - This maroon shade reminds me of the pretty fall leaves
  • Zoya Paris - Such a nice vampy shade and totally reminds me of The Hills when LC would wear a nice dark nail.

  • Nars Crossroads - This a beautiful dark creamy plum shade.
  • Chanel Magic - This shade is deep royal blue shade that is almost navy and makes your nails look ultra sleek.
  • Dior Junon - I love this shade so much!  This is a great summer to fall transition shade!
  • Butter London Bossy Boots - A lovely muted green shade that reminds me a bit of pistachios.
  • Nails Inc Bruton Mews - I have a feeling this is going to be on my nails all fall long.  Such an amazing deep green shade that reminds me of a Christmas tree.

My Friday Five #4

Another week has come and gone so here are my favorites!

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer - Ughhh I don't think I could live without this.  It is the absolute best concealer ever.  It covers my dark circles yet isn't cake and hardly creases.  And it is extra cheap.  Win win situation.

Sonia Kashuk Blush Brush - This brush comes from her 15th Anniversary set.  It is so amazing and I actually don't have a blush brush like it.  If you don't know I collect blush brushes.  I have so many different ones and love trying new ones.

Tom Ford Nude Dip palette - Unfortunately this seems to be sold out everywhere.  I was lucky enough to pre-sale it.  The palette is gorgeous and a neutral lovers paradise.

Chanel Le Volume de Chanel mascara - Months back when I first bought this I hated it.  It was to goopy and just clumped all my lashes together.  Now that it has dried out a bit I am in love.  It gives great volume to my lashes and also lengthens them a bit.

Formula X polish in Uber - We all know that I love a red nail!  This reddish orange shade is gorge and the Formula X range form Sephora is the bomb diggity!  They last a long time and there are so many shades to choose from!!

My Friday Five #1

I thought I would start a new segment on my blog called My Friday Five.  It's pretty much my top picks for the week!

1)Elizabeth and James Nirvana Black & White - I picked these roller balls up at Sephora with my points and I love to wear the both of them together ! It smells amazing !

2) I ordered a few necklaces off of Etsy from Layered and Long.  They came as a set and just look great on.  I am totally into the layered look.

3) I rediscovered an old favorite, Chanel Peregrina (discontinued).  It is a gorgeous nude shade and just what I have been looking for lately.

4) It is officially summer and what screams summer more then China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy!  I love how great this looks when you have a tan.

5) I have had a few minor breakouts recently and this Murad Acne Spot Fix worked like a charm.  My acne reduced in size over night and was less red.  I am hooked!

May Favorites

May has come and gone and June is almost upon us.  It is crazy how fast this year is going.  Another month and it'll be my birthday and in a month and half my blog will turn 1!!  I really can't believe that.  This month I have been loving a lot of new products that I have picked up.

But, first let me tell you about an old fav that I'm going to have to restock pretty soon.  The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla.  I have been using this to death lately.  I have been going the no makeup, makeup route lately and I use this just on my redness and few acne scars.  And then on top I dust my La Mer powder in Creme.  This stuff is amazing!! I ordered this within the past month or so and it has become a staple.  I use it to set my makeup and to give my face a little bit of coverage.  I have been using a Hakuhodo B002 with this powder.  It is one of the softest brushes I own and is so easy to use with the La Mer.  When I need more coverage, say if I am going out to dinner, I have been using my Chantecaille Just Skin in Vanilla.  This is a tinted moisturizer that gives great coverage.  It evens out my skin tone so well and leaves a nice dewy look.  And for some dimension I have been mixing in the Clarin's Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in 01 Rose.  This gives my skin a nice glow.  It isn't the best smelling but, once you mix it with your foundation the smell goes away.
I have embraced my paleness and really haven't been using bronzer lately but, I have been using the Tom Ford blush in Flush.  This gives me such a nice flush and really makes me look awake.  It is slightly shimmery but, you couldn't tell unless you were inches away from my face.  And for highlight I have been using Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight.  This is such a cult favorite and I totally understand why.  It just makes my face glow.  To put candlelight on I have been using the Hakuhodo B5521.  This brush is great for highlight.  It is tapered and makes it extra easy to put highlight on my cheek bones and run down my nose.  For eyes I have been love, love, loving my Armani Eyes to Kill in 9.  It is a beautiful champagne, gold color.  I have been wearing this all over my eyes and popping Naked into the crease.  For mascara I have been experimenting with Chanel's Le Volume de Chanel.  I have a love/hate relationship with this.  Sometimes I love the way it looks and sometimes it is just to gloopy.  I think it needs to dry out a little bit more and I will truly love this.  And lastly my Chanel Eastern Lights has been a staple.  I think this great on so many different skin tones and just looks so crisp and clean.

Chanel Les Beiges {Healthy Glow No. 01}

Chanel has released two new limited edition Les Beiges powders.  Theres are multi-colored and can act as a highlight, bronzer, and blush all in one.  I am currently obsessed with my regular Les Beiges powder so I knew I had to try this out.  I got No. 01 which is the lighter of the two.  No. 02 is more of a bronzed look while No. 01 is more of a sun kissed look.

I have been using this for a week or so now and to be honest I am not overly impressed.  While I do like the concept and the overall glow it gives my skin I feel like it could be better.  It is already forming a hard pan and I've only used it a hand full of times.  The blush part is actually my favorite.  It is a nice pinky coral that looks great alone or swirled all together.  The highlight portion is just extra disappointing.  It is so hard to get any powder and that is mostly where the hard pan is forming. For $65 I'm just underwhelmed and kind of sad.  I will still use this to get a nice glow but, I definitely will not reach for it as much as my regular Les Beiges.

Let's Talk Trash #2

I don't know about you, but I love seeing other peoples empties.  It inspires me to try and finish up products that I have.  I also love the satisfying feeling of finishing a product.  If you aren't a crazy makeup person like myself you might not understand what I am talking about, but just take my word for it!  So, I decided hey why not show my empties.

(2) full sized mascaras (6) mini mascaras (1) lip balm (1) face spray (1) aragan oil (1) primer (1) eye serum

(1) nail polish remover (1) dry texturizing spray (2) face washes (2) face creams (2) hand lotions

What is your most repurchased item ??  I have the Oribe Dry Texturizing spray and Armani Eyes to Kill mascara on my list !

Chanel Les Beiges Powder !

The Les Beiges powder debuted in the US back in August.  At the time I could not wait to get my hands on it but for some reason I never picked it up.  Well I am sorry that I didn't.  This powder is just fabulous!  It is finely milled and more on the sheer side.  It works lovely to set your foundation or even just to dust all over your face on a no makeup, makeup day.  I use mine everyday to set my foundation and it works wonders.  As you all know by now I have extremely dry skin and normally I don't set my foundation at all.  But, this powder has changed all of that.  Since it is so fine and sheer it does not hold onto my dry patches.  It actually gives my face a nice healthy glow.  It does not break my foundation down throughout the day and wears nicely.

It comes in seven shades.  I am actually thinking of picking up a darker shade to use as a bronzer.  The beige packaging is so gorgeous and the half moon brush is actually not bad.  I do prefer to use the Sephora 55 Pro Airbrush though.  This is the older version which I like more then the newer one.  But that is a totally different subject and totally different post.  Now buyer beware that this powder does have a scent to it.  On the website it claims the scent it White Rose and Cotton Flower.  I actually love the smell and it does not bother my skin at all.

All in all I am really happy with this powder.  The only thing is at $57.50 a pop it is quite expensive.  But I mean it makes my skin look so amazing so I am willing to shell out the $$.

Have you tried the Les Beiges Powder ??  What is your holy grail powder ??

Tom Ford Spring 2014 Nail Polishes !

tom ford spring 2014

Well, this was supposed to go up yesterday but, my poor manager fell down the stairs at work and I spent most of my day in the ER with her.  So, by the time I got home I was exhausted!  Anywho, now onto why we are all here.  Tom Ford released four gorgeous, limited edition nail polishes with his spring collection.  And when I say gorgeous, I mean gorgeous.  I bought all four shades, Sugar Dune, Incandescent, Coral Beach, and Indiscretion.  By far Sugar Dune has been my favorite.  And the lasting power on these is great!  I had Sugar Dune on for about five days with only light chipping to the tips on my nails.  To me that is a big A+.

Sugar Dune is a nice creamy nude color.  I don't really have anything similar in my collection other then Essie Topless & Barefoot.  And Sugar Dune pulls more tan and Topless & Barefoot pulls more beige.  Only two coats are needed but, you can add a third if you feel the need too.

Incandescent is a beautiful rose gold shade.  This is my second favorite of the bunch.  I don't own anything even remotely similar and to be honest you really only need one coat of this polish.

Coral Beach is actually my least favorite of the four.  You need about three coats to be opaque and it can be quite streaky.  It is more of a orange coral then a peach coral which is a bit different.  I think this would look great on tan skin.

Indiscretion is a lovely sheer pinky red.  It applies much nicer then Coral Beach does and is different then what I have in my collection.  I think this would look great on any skin tone.

What I love most about this collection is how different each color is and how I don;t have dupes in my collection for them!

What is your favorite color ??
