Random Tid Bits !

May I say I love this photo!  It's captures what I truly love to do, sing and dance like a fool.  If you know me then you know I truly don't care where I am or who is around me, if a song that I love comes on I sing and dance.  I have on a few occasions embarrassed the people I was with(mother & the bf).  I used to work at Old Navy and would sing and dance around the store.  My co-workers can attest to that.  I have had many a customer give me an odd look, but I mean when a good song comes on who can hold back?
So everyone go have you're own dance party!  I will be hosting my own and listening to Roar & The Fox Song.  Um have you all heard that song?  So ridiculous yet catchy at the same time.

I have been loving this palette lately.  It has the perfect amount of cool tones & warm tones.  Sonia Kashuk makes amazing products for great prices.  If you don't own anything from her run to Target now! I would suggest any of her brushes and any of her eyeshadows.  I have not tried any of the other products, but I have heard they are great.

LOVE!!!!! If you haven't checked out Aubrey Kinch's blog you should!  She does some amazing blog designs & every Friday she puts out adorable downloads.  Currently I have Everyday I'm Hustin' as my computer home screen & lock screen on my phone.  I love it!!!

So these are my random tid bits for today.

Do You Use Shadow Sticks !!

So I don't know about you, but I love shadow sticks!  I love using them as bases or just on their own.  Many brands from high end to low end make them.  Some are great, some not so much.  Today I am brining you my high end shadow sticks.  I almost love each and everyone of them!  Most I use on their own, but a few I use as bases.

Laura Mercier Metallic Creme Eye Color in Platinum  - I love using this a base.  It technically is not a shadow stick, but it's a great creme shadow and has a nice consistency.  It is much lighter then the caviar sticks, but gives great pigmentation and longevity.  Platinum is a nice light color to use under a multitude of other colors.  It lasts at least 8 hours and hardly creases.

MAC Shadestick in Heirloom - MAC no longer makes shade sticks and I know why!  This is a beautiful color, but it is so hard to use.  The stick itself is very rough and stiff, not as creamy as it should be.  To get any color on the eye you have to play around a bit with it.  Definitely not worth it at all.

Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow in Moon River - Love this!  It has such a wonderful cooling effect on the eye.    It is on the more glittery side, but it is still amazing!  I love wearing this on its own.  I use a crease color and that's it!  It is so beautiful and lasts for a better part of the day.

Clinique Chubby Stick Shadow Stick in Ample Amber - I heard ttsandra talk about this so much I had to try it.  This is great for blue and green eyes.  It makes them pop so much.  It gives a nice sheer wash of color that you can build up or use another shadow over top.  I personally like it by itself.

Sephora Jumbo Liner in Taupe - Now I must say this isn't my go to shadow stick.  It is a beautiful color.  If you don't know I am a taupe freak.  Any shadow with the word taupe in it needs to be mine.  The only reason I am not a big fan is because this creases a bit on me.  I tend to have oily eyelids.  I mean they aren't really oily, but compared to the rest of my face they definitely are.  I know a lot of people love these and they have tons of different colors!

Ellis Faas Creamy Eyes in 105 - Love!! I must get more!  I originally heard of these through Rachel from makeupneversleeps.  To be honest anything she suggests goes onto my need list and I have loved everything I have bought.  As the name states these are creamy, and I must say these are a creamy joy.  105 is a nice warm taupe/brown color.  I have used this by itself and also along with other shadows.  I am not the biggest fan of the applicator, but I tend to just use a synthetic brush to blend the shadow out.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst - This is my pride & joy.  If this was the only eyeshadow I could wear for the rest of my life I would be content with that.  This shadow is just amazballs.  Why I don't own more of these I am not sure.  The consistency is wonderful.  It is more on the thicker side but can be sheered out with your finger or brush.  I like to use my fingers.  I also love to pair this with Mulberry eyeshadow from Burberry, and if I want something more dramatic I add some Chanel Taupe Grise to the crease.

What are your favorite shadow sticks?

Also I have a lot of my new pieces up on my Etsy shop.  More will be going up soon!!

Oh Hey Fall ! {Dior Fall 2013}

There are so many fall releases coming out I can't keep up!  But, I have picked up a few items from Dior.  I actually love a lot of products from Dior and I have never been disappointed.  I love love love their BB Cream and their Cheek Creme.  So of course I knew I had to get a few things from them!

I first picked up one of the new Diorshow Fusion Mono shadows.  The feeling and texture is very reminiscent of the Cheek Creme.  I would not say it is a cream shadow, but I also wouldn't say it is more of a gel shadow either.  It reminds me of the Chanel Illusion D'ombres a bit.  Anywho, I love it.  I got mine in the shade Hypnotique.  It is so smooth to put on and did not crease much until the 8th or 9th hour of wear.  Which is a plus in my book.  I did however use a primer underneath, but I do that with all of my cream shadows.  The color is so gorgeous that I used it all over the lid with nothing else but a crease color.

Then when I was in Sephora I saw the new lipgloss and nail polish and had to have.  The nail polish is this rich burgundy, wine color with flecks of silver shimmer.  It looks beautiful on the nails and would look amazing all throughout the fall and winter.  And I love the name, Galaxie!
Then unfortunately I returned the lip gloss.  I love the formula of the Dior glosses.  They have great pigmentation too, but the shade was not right for me.  It aged me about 10 years, which is not something I want to do.  I think if you have more olive skin this would look great though.  The shade is Ensorcelante.  It is a brick red color with an undertone of brown.  I was just way to pale to pull this off.

What Fall releases have you picked up??  I have been dying to get my hands on the Tom Ford She Wolf trio.  It is amazballs.

Not Forgotten

Today is my dark day.  I think it is many people's dark day.  I was 10 years old on that Tuesday morning.  I was only 10, but I had a huge love for New York.  I was always proud to call it my home, and I still am.  I truly wouldn't want to live anywhere else.  Every year I sit and reflect on what happened that tragic day.  So many lives were lost, so many lives changed forever.  Thankfully no one in my immediate family worked in the city, but my neighbor who was a firefighter lost his life that day.
New Yorkers are missing a huge part of our skyline.  There is a giant gap that can never be filled.  I have yet to visit the memorial. To be honest I am not sure if I am ready to visit yet.  I was so young, but so effected by what happened.  Every year I sit and cry just thinking about it all.  There is such a wave of emotions that comes over you.  Even right now as I am typing this I can't help but tear up.
We all come together as a country and state this day, every year.  We are united as one.  I think Rudy Guilanni said it best, " The attacks of September 11th were intended to break our spirit.  Instead we have emerged stronger and more unified."

Gone but never forgotten.

Peplum & Color Blocking !

So Sunday was a fun day!  It was a friends birthday, so we went out to brunch!  I had some yummy smores french toast and refreshing bellinis.  Yes, I know last time I went to brunch I swore I wouldn't day drink again, but this time I only had a few.  We ate at a fun restaurant called PS450.  And then since we didn't want to stop the fun we headed over to 230 Fifth, which is a rooftop lounge place.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day and the view was amazing!

I have the Armani mascara on here

What did you do over the weekend??
