Blame It on Nars Cheek Palette

Nordstrom recently had their Anniversary Sale.  And being I have a Nordstrom Card I got early access.  There were lots of different Beauty Exclusives but, I only picked up two.  One being the Blame It on Nars Cheek Palette ($59).   The mini Ita brush really drew me in and the fact that I don't have any of the blushes/bronzers in the palette.  The packaging on this is absolutely gorgeous! I almost didn't want to throw the box away.  Inside you have a highlight, Satellite of Love, a bronzer, Casino, and two blushes, Day Dream and New Attitude.  Each of these are smooth and creamy with the same quality as full size versions.

 Comparison of full size Ita and mini Ita

  Comparison of full size Ita and mini Ita

I was so surprised to find the mini Ita is softer then the full size Ita!  I might be using that one more. Overall I think this is a great palette to own.  It would be great for traveling and just a great collectable.  This is my first Nars cheek palette and I am pretty impressed.

Do you own any of the Nars Cheek palettes ??  What do you think of them ??

Monthly Favorites {February}

We are one month closer to spring!  I am so excited.  My makeup game was pretty minimal this month.  I stuck to a few items and used them almost everyday.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - I finally repurchased this after too many month without it. I love how creamy it is and how easily it blends out and covers.

Hourglass Modernist Palette in Exposure - These shadows are just absolutely gorgeous!  They blend like a dream and are amazingly pigmented.

Tom Ford Cream Shadow in Platinum - On days when I am not sure what i exactly want to do with my eyes I turn to this.  I put this all over my eyes and I am good to go.  This shade just compliments my blue eyes so well.

Armani Eyes to Kill Mascara - My absolute holy grail in mascaras.  I love how this makes my lashes look so voluminous and at the same time lengthens them a bit.

Becca Blush in Flowerchild - This blush is perfect for a natural flush look.  It does have shimmer in it but, it does not translate onto your cheeks.

Guerlain Kiss Kiss Lipstick in Rosy Silk - I have been going for a lighter lip lately and this is perfect for that.  I love the way these lipsticks feel on my lips.

Albeit Lip Balm - Every morning I get up and apply this balm to my lips.  It is very nourishing and moisturizing.

Nars Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret

For Christmas Daria got me the Nars Digital World Lip Pencil Coffret ($49) and I was beyond ecstatic!  I love Nars lip pencils and here I was holding five amazing shades.  This set comes with three satin lip pencils (Yu, Descanso, & Torres Del Paine) and two matte lip pencils (Passionate & New Iberico).  The case it came in is gorgeous.  I am not sure what I will use it for yet but, I know that I am keeping it.  I don't own any of the matte pencils and I am very happy with them.  My favorite out of all the Nars lip pencils are the satin ones.  As for the shade selection I am very pleased. There are the two nudes and the three brighter shades.  These minis perform just as well as their full size counter parts.   Luckily this is still available on the Sephora website.  So, if you still have some holiday shopping to do or just want to treat yourself you can.

November Favorites

It is almost Christmas and it is freaking me out.  I really can't believe the year is almost over.  November has come and gone and I have found some new gems and rediscovered some older ones.

L'oreal True Match Foundation - After hearing Anna & Amelia talk about this I pulled it out from my foundation drawer and low and behold I fell in love with it again.  It leaves a nice satin finish and has amazing staying power.  I can get at least 8+ hours of wear.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - I couldn't find my Fit Me concealer one day so I used my Nars and feel in love all over again.  It has great coverage and has a great satin finish just like the True Match.   I like to use them together.

Burberry Blush Nude Palette - Ughh I die for this palette.  Have I told you how much I love Burberry shadows ?  Cause I love them.  I have been really enjoying a mauvey, plumy eye lately.

Smashbox Full Exposure Mascara - I got this in a 500pt perk from Sephora and it is wonderful.  I really enjoy a mascara that has fiber bristles instead of plastic ones.  This gives volume and length and is very black.

Becca Blush in Flowerchild - I have been really into a glowy flush lately and this blush does that for me.  It gives me that natural flush look and it has a sheen to it.

Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight - This is such a cult classic and I totally understand why.  It gives such an amazing glow and really helps my cheekbones stand out.

Albeit Nourishing Lip Balm - If you enjoy Dior's Rose Balm or the By Terry Baume de Rose then you will love this stuff.  It is a rose scented balm that leaves your lips extra moisturized.  I found this recently at Anthropologie and I have been loving it.

Dior Smoky Nail Polish - Dior always comes out with these cute little nail polishes during the holiday season and this year I had to get one.  The shade Smoky is a deep plumy shade and almost looks black on the nails.  It is perfect for this time of year.

October Favorites

Tom Ford Traceless Perfecting Foundation - I have been raving about this for months now.  This is the most perfect foundation like ever.  I have never loved a beauty product as much as I love this.  It is long lasting and gives great coverage.  It isn't cakey and is a bit dewy.  I love using a beauty blender with it.  It is just utter perfection.

Chanel Camelia de Plumes Highlighter - This highlighter is so gorgeous.  It is a white gold shade (no it isn't silver) and it just melts into your skin.  I just think this looks amazing on my cheek bones.

YSL Volupte Sheer Candy #5 - This is such a beautiful berry shade and it is nice and sheer which means I can wear this to work.  It smells divine also.

Kiko Long Lasting Stick Eyeshadow #5 - This shadow stick has been a go to lately !  It's a dusty rose shade that just makes blue eyes pop.  It lasts almost all day which is a huge plus.

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - I recently fell back in love with this concealer.  It was on the back burner for a while but finally made a reappearance this month.  The shade Vanilla is perfect for under my eyes.  It doesn't crease and blends like a dream.

Tom Ford Extreme Mascara - I am almost at the end with this mascara.  It separates my lashes and gives them a bit of volume and it is very black.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette - Ughhh!! Love this sooooo much!!  I have used this everyday since I got it.  Incandescent Electra has been my go to.  These blushes are so beautiful and give the skin a gorgeous glow.

Also this month I have been loving my Malibu Bows leopard print clutch and my H&M bag.  As for tv I have been really into Criminal Minds.  I have been on Netflix binge watching it.

My Friday Five #6

The Body Shop Camomile Cleansing Butter - I recently finished my cleansing balm and was in the market for a new one.  I was strolling through The Body Shop and saw this and feel in love.  I love the buttery texture and how my makeup just glides off my face.

Nars Blush in Sin - It is finally fall and I am in full fall makeup mode.  This blush is such a gorgeous maroon shade and looks great on my pale skin.

By Terry Ombre Blackstar in Misty Rock - I was watching Tanya Burr the other day and she had this on her eyes so I thought I would bring this out of the arsenal.  I use this all over my eyes and just blend it out.  I love how it makes my blue eyes pop.

Maybelline Color Tattoo in Caramel Cool - If you hadn't noticed I love a cream shadow.  I love to wear this shade by itself.  Sometimes I line my lids with a plum liner when wearing this.

Chanel Glossimer in Crushed Cherry -  I love a good vampy lip and this gloss in the best!! It is a beautiful deep plum color that stains my lips.

I am also so excited that my new 2015 planner came in.  I picked up the Day Designer from Whitney English and I can't wait to use it.   And I have been obsessed with HGTV magazine.

3.1 Phillip Lim for Nars Polishes {Crossroads & Dark Room}

Phillip Lim recently teamed up with Nars to create 9 beautiful nail polishes!  I was able to get my hands on two of them.  And let me say they are so gorgeous!  Each bottle retails for $20 and they can be found at Sephora or Nars Boutique's.

Dark Room is a creamy dark teal shade.  It is opaque in one coat and lasted about five days on my nails.

Essie Bobbing for Baubles - Essie Go Overboard - Nars Dark Room - Chanel Magic

Crossroads is a beautiful deep plum shade.  Again it is opaque in one coat but, I personally enjoy two coats.  This lasted about four days on my nails.

Chanel Charivari - Nars Crossroads - Essie Carry On - Essie After School Boy Blazer

I really enjoyed these shades but to be honest I am not the biggest fan of Nars polishes.  The brushes on them are just to large for my taste.  I like a brush more like Chanel or Essie.  But that is me.

Have you picked any of these polishes up ??  What do you think ??

A Night on the Town {Makeup & Outfits} #AriaNightOut

I'm totally not a party girl.  I like to sit at home in my pj's and watch a crazy woman throw her leg on a table but, every once and awhile it is nice to have a night out.  So, of course, the first thing that pops into my mind is what makeup would I wear!  I made a video showing you what I would use but, I'll also put step by step instructions of what I would do.

First up priming the face.  I like to use Makeup Forever HD Primer.  It helps my makeup to last all night and it helps prevent flash back.  I am already very pale.  I do not need to look like a ghost in pictures.  Next up is foundation.  I love the Covergirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous (1) foundation.  This has little or no SPF in it so this will also prevent flash back.  To hide my under eye circles I use the Maybelline Fit Me concealer.  This doesn't crease on me and helps to highlight that area.  Now to set my concealer and to contour I use the Nars Countour Blush (2).  I love the contour shade.  It isn't too red but, isn't to grey either.  For blush I use a neutral pink like Burberry's Blossom (3).  Since I am focusing more on my eyes and lips I don't want too much going on with my cheeks.  Then for my brows I use the Hourglass Brow Arch Pencil (4).  I can't go a day without filling my brows in.  I think it just frames the face so well.  Now onto eyes.  To prime my eyes I use the Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Cocoa.  This is amazing.  It does not crease whatsoever!  I blend that out with my fingers and use Urban Decay Naked shadow in my crease.  Then I use Sephora's Outrageous Peach (5) all over my lid.  The mix of the Cocoa and the Peach really makes my eyes pop.  I am not really into the cat eye so I just use the L'oreal Slim Liner (6) to thinny line my lashes.  It makes them look fuller.  Then for mascara I use my beloved Too Faced Better Than Sex.  This makes my lashes look amazballs.  I am totally not a fake lash wearer.  They annoy my eyes so much.  Then to finish off my face I use the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (7).  I just used Dim Light all over.  Then to highlight I used MAC's Definitely Defined (8).  This is my go to highlighter.  And lastly for lips I love a red lip so I am using Rimmel Show Off Lacquer in Big Bang (9).

I thought I would also show you want kind of outfit I would wear out.  First Option we have nice Racerback Tank and these Rag & Bone skinny jeans.   My second option would be this great Red Dress.   I would probably go for option 1 since I am more of a jeans girl.

Hope you enjoyed this little Get Ready with Me.  Let me know if you like these kinds of posts.

Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadows {Callisto & Subra}

Nars recently released their Dual Intensity Eyeshadows.  There are twelve shades in all and each goes for $29.  I was in Bloomingdale's the other day and picked up two, Subra and Callisto.  Subra is a reddish, purple shade with a slight shimmer to it.  Callisto is a light lilac, champagne shade with a good amount a shimmer to it.  And when I say shimmer I don't mean wearing a disco ball on your eye lid.  I just mean a sophisticated shimmer that doesn't make you like you think it's halloween.
These shadows can be worn dry or wet.  If you are going for a more intense look I would definitely use them with some Mac Fix +.  These shadows are long lasting (8 or more hours with a primer) and have great pigmentation.  And they have a cream like texture but go on like a powder.  The go on smoothly and blend like a dream.  I can't wait to get my hands on a few more shades!  I'm thinking Himalia and Dione.

Have you tried these eyeshadows yet ??

May Favorites

May has come and gone and June is almost upon us.  It is crazy how fast this year is going.  Another month and it'll be my birthday and in a month and half my blog will turn 1!!  I really can't believe that.  This month I have been loving a lot of new products that I have picked up.

But, first let me tell you about an old fav that I'm going to have to restock pretty soon.  The Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla.  I have been using this to death lately.  I have been going the no makeup, makeup route lately and I use this just on my redness and few acne scars.  And then on top I dust my La Mer powder in Creme.  This stuff is amazing!! I ordered this within the past month or so and it has become a staple.  I use it to set my makeup and to give my face a little bit of coverage.  I have been using a Hakuhodo B002 with this powder.  It is one of the softest brushes I own and is so easy to use with the La Mer.  When I need more coverage, say if I am going out to dinner, I have been using my Chantecaille Just Skin in Vanilla.  This is a tinted moisturizer that gives great coverage.  It evens out my skin tone so well and leaves a nice dewy look.  And for some dimension I have been mixing in the Clarin's Instant Light Radiance Boosting Complexion Base in 01 Rose.  This gives my skin a nice glow.  It isn't the best smelling but, once you mix it with your foundation the smell goes away.
I have embraced my paleness and really haven't been using bronzer lately but, I have been using the Tom Ford blush in Flush.  This gives me such a nice flush and really makes me look awake.  It is slightly shimmery but, you couldn't tell unless you were inches away from my face.  And for highlight I have been using Kevyn Aucoin Candlelight.  This is such a cult favorite and I totally understand why.  It just makes my face glow.  To put candlelight on I have been using the Hakuhodo B5521.  This brush is great for highlight.  It is tapered and makes it extra easy to put highlight on my cheek bones and run down my nose.  For eyes I have been love, love, loving my Armani Eyes to Kill in 9.  It is a beautiful champagne, gold color.  I have been wearing this all over my eyes and popping Naked into the crease.  For mascara I have been experimenting with Chanel's Le Volume de Chanel.  I have a love/hate relationship with this.  Sometimes I love the way it looks and sometimes it is just to gloopy.  I think it needs to dry out a little bit more and I will truly love this.  And lastly my Chanel Eastern Lights has been a staple.  I think this great on so many different skin tones and just looks so crisp and clean.

Nars Contour Blush {Paloma}

Nars, in my opinion, has always been amazing with creating blushes and bronzers.  I have never heard someone say they dislike a Nars blush.  I actually have 5 or 6 myself and of course I own the cult classic Laguna bronzer.  So, when Nars came out with these Contour Blushes I had to own one.
I chose Paloma, which has more pink undertones.  And, I am really enjoying it.  I love my Laguna bronzer but, sometimes it can look to muddy on me.  Since, my skin has pink undertones and so does this powder, this looks great on me.  It doesn't look to muddy or over done when I contour.  And the highlighting powder just melts right into my skin.  It is such a good color match.  I use this down my nose, on the tops of my cheek bones, and on my cupids bow.

I have been using the Real Techniques Contour brush to contour and the Real Techniques Setting brush to highlight my face.

There are three shades you can choose from.  Paloma is the pink beige highlight with the light rose contour.  This is suitable for people with pink undertones and light skin.  Olympia is ivory highlight with rose contour and is suitable for people who have a yellow undertone and light skin.  And lastly there is Gienah which has a honey highlight and amber contour.  This is suitable for anyone who has tanned skin.

I really am enjoying this palette.  It has actually made me use bronzer a bit more and I think that Nars hit it on the nose with this product.

Have you tried these Contour Blushes ?  What is your favorite contour shade ??

Spring Blush Picks !

Last week I shared my favorite spring blushes on Instagram and I though hey that is a great idea for a post!  There are four blushes I reach for the most during this time of year.  First is Nars Final Cut.  This is the newest to my collection but, I love how it has a slight orange coral tint to it rather then a pink coral tint.  This looks great on fair skin.  Next up is Breathless from Buxom.  Hands down this is my absolute favorite.  It is the perfect shade of coral and it gives you a beautiful flush.  Dior Rosy Glow is a gorgeous light pink that adjusts to your skin tone.  This would be flattering on all skin tones.  And lastly is Burberry's Hydrangea Pink.  This packs a punch.  It is the most pigmented blush out of the four and I love to wear this to special events.  It gives my cheeks great color and looks great in pictures.

Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon {Satsuma}

If you have never tried anything from Bite Beauty, well you need to.  They are an all natural lip care company thats mission is to create high performance lipstick.  I have tried many of their products and love them all.  Their shade range is amazing and they sell exclusively at Sephora.  If you like a bold lip you definitely need to check them out!  They recently released a Matte Creme Lip Crayon that has a delicious citrus scent.  There are six shades in all, which range from a mid tone pink to a bright purple with a nice red orange in the middle.  I picked up Satsuma; a nice bright, deep pink.  I have totally been into the matte lips lately and have been enjoying this immensely.  It is so pigmented and actually very moisturizing.  This lip pencil is made with citrus wax peel to keep your lips hydrated.  I see myself ordering one or two more in the near future along with a few other lipsticks for the spring time!

Compared to Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Villa Lante (LE) & L'oreal La Laque in Laquerized (LE)

One other cool fact about Bite Beauty, they have a Lip Lab in NYC where you can make your own lip color.  I have not been yet but, it is on my list of places to go!

Nars Final Cut {Final Cut & Villa Lante}

Nars just recently came out with this collection.  As of right now you can only order it from Nordstrom in the US.  Please correct me if I am wrong.  There are four blushes {Final Cut, Love, Sex Fantasy, and New Attitude} and four satin lip pencils {Descanso, Stourhead, Torres Del Paine, and Villa Lante} in the collection.  I absolutely love Nars blushes and I really enjoy the satin lip pencils.  I only ordered one of each since I ordered without looking at any reviews or swatches.  And I am so happy with my choices!  For blush I purchased Final Cut, which is a gorgeous orangey coral color and it looks great on my fair skin.  It is a matte blush, which you all know I love.  And I purchased the Villa Lante satin lip pencil.  Villa Lante is a nice true pink color that pulls a bit on the blue side.  The satin lip pencils have a nice finish that is not too glossy.  It looks great on my complexion and I have been wearing it pretty often.  If you want to see all of the blushes swatched on the cheeks then I suggest heading over to Buy Now, Blog Later.  I absolutely love Laura and have been reading her blog for years now.  And if you would like to see all of the lip pencils swatched on lips I would say to head over to The Beauty Look Book.  Both of these blogs are daily reads for me and give me a while lot of inspiration.
 Now that I have seen many reviews and swatches, I will probably go and pick up New Attitude and Sex Fantasy.  They both look gorgeous and I do not believe I have any blush in my collection that even comes close to duping them.

Top 13 of 2013 !

1. Ole Henriksen Truth Serum - As you all know I rave about this serum all the time!  It keeps my skin radiant and clear. Plus, it helps my moisturizer sink in and keep my hydrated throughout the day.

2. Diorskin Nude BB Creme - This is my number 1 go to foundation!  It gives me light weight coverage, yet it covers all my imperfections.  It matches my skin perfectly and hardly oxidizes throughout the day.  It never clings to my dry patches, and that is a huge plus in my opinion.

3. Laura Mercier Mineral Powder - I was never a powder person.  I have such dry skin and powder always clung to it.  When I heard so many people talking about this I just had to try it and I was happy I did.  I love to use this on the days I don't feel like wearing foundation.  This works great with just so concealer underneath!

4. Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer - I am always on the hunt for the best under eye concealer.  I really don't use concealer on my face, just my under eye area.  And, I love my under eye area to look nice and bright.  This is great for just that.  There were so many shades to choose from so, I was able to find the perfect one.  This does not crease and stays in place all day without me setting it.  You can read more about how much I love this here.

5. Armani Corrector  - This is a god send!  I am so happy that I listened to Lisa and bought this.  I would not say that I have horrible under eye circles, but they definitely show through my concealer.  This gets rid of any ugly purple circles I have and is a great base for my concealer.

6. Beauty Blender - If you do not own this than I suggest picking one up.  This is hands down a game changer!  I never thought I would love a sponge as much as I love this.  I use it everyday and it just helps my foundation look as flawless and possible.
7. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso - Whenever I am not quite sure what blush to wear I go for this.  It gives my the most amazing flush.  I normally go for a matte blush, but there is something about the sheen to this.  It is more of a satin finish than a glittery one.  It looks gorgeous on a number of skin tones and is so affordable.

8. Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette - If you have never ever bought a palette from Urban Decay than I suggest getting this as your first.  I know it looks so basic, as the name says, but I use this every single day.  I love to use Naked 2 as my brow powder.  Venus is a wonderful highlighting color and Crave is the blackest black you can own.  I love to travel with this and do a nice neutral eye.

9. Burberry Eyeshadow in Mulberry - So luxurious!  This eyeshadow is nice and creamy yet it does not have a ton of fall out.  It blends well and looks amazing on most eye colors.  If I could only chose one shadow to wear for the rest of my life it would be this (yes, I know a bit dramatic).
10. Armani Eyes To Kill Mascara - This is the bomb dot com.  I have never had a mascara that gives me such length and volume and it also does not transfer onto my under eye area which is a huge plus.  I hate when a mascara I like transfers.  It is like the kiss of death.  It is on the pricey side for mascara, but it is totally worth it.

11. Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Amethyst - Out of all the eyeshadow sticks I own this is the absolute best.  It stays put on my eyes all day, even if I don't use a primer.  I also love wearing this with the Mulberry shadow.  They complement each other well.  I will totally be purchasing more Caviar Sticks in the near future.

12. NYX Butter Glosses in Apple Strudel & Maple Blondie - I love a coral lip and I love a good smelling gloss.  These combine the two.  I have almost every shade, but these two are my favorite.  They are nicely pigmented and not too sticky.  I hate sticky lipgloss.  Plus, they are a steal at $4.99, and Ulta always has BOGO half off sales going on!

13. Jack Black Lip Balm - I was introduced to this lip balm way back and I have been through countless amounts of tubes.  I love all the flavors, but Black Tea & Blackberry is my favorite.  I always have this in rotation with my other balms.  This is hands down the best!

Bronzer-licious !

Anyone else have a sick obsession for bronzers?  I never feel like I have the shade some look to light, others too dark, or even to orange.  As we all know I am ghostly pale very close to pasty, and as it progresses to winter I get worse.  So every now and then I like to look a bit human and bronze myself up.  I sometimes go for the sunkissed look or sometimes I go for a more contoured look.  I have amassed these 7 bronzer to do the trick for me.  3 can be used to look sun kissed, 3 for contouring, and 1 can go either way.

Love Clarins bronzers!  They always look so chic and cute.  This one is the lightest in my bunch.  I go to this on a normal day to day basis to just make myself look like I've seen the sun in the last year or so. I normally use a MAC 129 or Bobbi Brown Bronzer brush to apply this.  Now this is no longer available, but there is something very similar and would probably do the same trick.

Oh Dior!  As you can see I love a bronzer with some pink in it!  This is very similar to the Clarins one, but just a bit darker.  I use it in the same manner as the Clarins and with the same brushes.  This was more of a on the whim, I feel like I need something luxurious purchase.  I don't regret it, but does one need so many of the same, of course you do!

One day I was watching Youtube, what day aren't you watching Youtube Gina, and Nicole Guerriero was talking about this bronzer and it looked like a perfect shade for me and it is!  I was always a bit scared the Chocolate Soleil would be a bit dark for me, but this one looked right on the money!  And it is right on the money.  Primed and Poreless is a great shade for us pale/fair skinned girls.

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil bronzer! As I said before I always thought this would be a bit dark for me, but I was wrong.  I picked this up at Sephora in one of those really cute deluxe sample packages they keep at checkout.  I can use this, lightly, as an all over bronzer or as a contour shade.  I like to us a big fluffy brush like the Sephora #40 Pro Flawless Powder Brush.

Clarins - Dior - Too Faced P&P - Too Faced Soleil

I picked Nars Laguna up a long time ago and hated it, and i mean HATED it.  That was also before I had proper brushes or was really into makeup.  So on a recommendation from Ellejay10.  She is a fellow pale girl and said she loved this.  So I had to give it another try.  And I must say I no longer hate.  This is great for contouring.  I normally use the Real Techniques Contour Brush with this.

I have had this Bobbi Brown bronzer in my arsenal for a while now.  It was on of the first high end bronzers I bought and used for contouring.  This light tan color is so gorgeous to contour with, especially during the summer.  I find that it isn't too orange on my skin even though it looks a little orange in the pan.  As you can tell I love me a matte bronzer and I think this is my favorite out of all the ones I have.

Have I said I love Clarins bronzers?  To be honest I loved the packaging and design of this so much I had to get it.  This came out this summer with the Splendours Collection and I knew it would be a bit dark for a regular all over, sunkissed bronzer, but I was ok with that.  It is just so gorgeous, I could not resist.

Are you a pasty white girl like myself?  If you let me know what some of your favorite bronzers are, and even if you aren't let me know!!
