Chanel Sweet Star Le Vernis

Every year Chanel releases a nail polish (or two) for Fashion's Night Out.  I have Blue Boy, Blue Rebel, and Magic from previous FNO's and when I saw Sweet Star I knew it had to be mine.  FNO is no longer held in the United States but many other countries do have one.  This year Sweet Star was released in Australia on FNO (back in Septemeber).  It has just released in the United States and I was on a major hunt for it.  I found mine at Bloomingdale's in Soho but, it is now on the Chanel website.

Sweet Star in unlike any polish I own.  It is a duo chrome where in some instances it looks purple and in others it looks gray.  It applies amazingly and lasts for four or so days (I use the Sephora Formula X System).  Two coats is needed because the first coat is a bit streaky but with a second it looks nice and opaque.  I am not quite sure how to explain how amazingly gorgeous this polish truly is.  I have gotten so many compliments wearing it too.  

  

I would say that if you are looking for something unique totally buy this.  I can foresee myself wearing this a lot in the coming months.

Chanel Fall 2014 Overview

Chanel Fall 2014 has just recently launched online and is trickling into department stores as we speak.  I placed on order the other day for the polishes and blush.  I wanted to wait and see the lipsticks and glosses in person.  Chanel's Fall collection is a poetic palette full of colorful opposites.

Chanel Nuit Magique Le Vernis in Magic !

Back in December Chanel released the Nuit Magique Collection.  It included two nail polishes, Magic and Cosmic.  I unfortunately was only able to get my hands on Magic.  But you can see swatches on Temptalia or The Beauty Look Book.  Magic is the gorgeous blue shade that is lighter then a navy blue and more like a midnight sky.  It only takes about two coats to be opaque and lasts a few days or so, just like any Chanel nail polish.  I love a nice dark blue shade and this a bit different then anything I have in my collection.  The only one that comes close is Chanel Blue Rebel.  It came out a few years ago during Fashion's Night Out.  But still Blue Rebel is a bit lighter and has more of a gray base then a white one.

Chanel Spring 2014 Collection {My Picks}

Chanel was one of the first to come out with it's Spring 2014 collection.  I was so excited and could not wait to get my hands on it.  I found mine at Macy's, but you can also find it on Chanel, Neiman Marcus, and Nordstrom.  I am a huge coral fan so I was so elated to see this collection.  I did not pick everything up, but only items I thought I would get the most use out of.

I skipped out on all rest because to be honest it did not appeal to me.  I am not huge on cream blushes (even though Chanel has some of the best) and I also do not use purple or pink as an eyeshadow that often., so there's that

Chanel Holiday 2013 {ACCENT & ROUGE RUBIS}

All the holiday collections are coming out and I am so excited!!  I love this time of year.  I was most excited by the Chanel Holiday Collection!  I was lusting over the blush and nail polish the most.  I am still debating on whether to get the eye palette or not.  I have heard it is buttery smooth, so I might just have to check it out.  

Now as for the blush, Joues Contraste in 84 Accent !  I love it!!!  It goes on amazingly smooth, and isn't powdery or hard to work with.  I don't use a bronzer when wearing this.  And to be honest I don't mind the shimmer.  I am usually one to like a matte blush, but this one has gotten to me.  And the nail polish, 677 Rouge Rubis, is also amazing.  It is a great red and did not chip much.  I know that Chanel polishes are hit and miss.  Some apply great and don't chip and others, well let's just say they go back to the Chanel counter.
